DIVD, the Dutch cybersecurity nonprofit, announced it had been breached via autonomous AI agent attack. The organization discovered the intrusion itself through its own monitoring, then blocked access and launched forensic investigation.
The organization described the attack as “loud and very very messy.” Autonomous agents deployed by attackers are not stealthy. The erratic behavior was conspicuous enough for the target to catch the breach on its own.
The contrast is revealing: human-run breaches trend toward stealth. This one did not. Either the agent orchestration is poorly designed, the model isn’t suited to covert behavior, or the attacker chose speed over cover. We don’t know yet.
No specific AI agent, model, or attack vector has been disclosed. Technical details remain under investigation.
